Welcome Maxwell!

| Nope, not the right weight. I need to work on this old scale, but the idea is cute, eh? |
I am so incredibly behind on blogging. So much has happened!
Let's see...we had some beautiful weather for a couple of weeks, so we took advantage of it and headed to the park with some buddies. The boys loved looking for bugs and alligators in the woods. So we don't really have the gators in the woods, but it sure made for an interesting conversation with Ben. He saved a grape to feed the gator, should we find one. Fortunately, we did not.
We had Easter! It was a fantastic time with lots of goodies from the Easter Bunny and family. The boys were spoiled rotten as usual. I think we will have Peeps left over until Halloween. They also have an awesome new wagon for walks in our neighborhood. Lots of chocolate bunnies with missing extremities, Cadbury eggs (I ate most of them), jelly beans, and M&M's. I love Easter, and it's the first time in years we have been able to spend it with our family. Holiday's sure take on a new feeling when you have little ones who are beaming with excitement, and family near by to see it happen.
Then...we met Maxwell! Boy do I have lots to say about this one. We went into the hospital Tuesday (4/10) evening around 7pm. They gave me a pill which was supposed to speed along the inducement process. It did not. We slept until 7am on the 11th, and wondered just what the heck kind of hotel that was supposed to be. Ok, so the hospital itself is beautiful (it's new), and the people were great. However it's strange to me in Indiana since Kansas is so different when it comes to being induced. But, whatevs. So about 8:15am on the 11th it was time for some meds to really speed up the process. The contractions started! I waited a few hours and then needed the epidural. Bliss. I took a lovely nap afterwards. A few more hours later, I started to get feeling back. I never lost any feeling in my legs, which I did with both other boys. The doc at this point decided I was moving to slowly so it was time to break my water. Well, they couldn't get to it because Max was hiding it. So back to sleep I went. Gush! My water broke on it's own, waking me from my slumber. It was then too late for more feel-good meds and boy the pain was starting to set in. The doc was called in from the hospital across town, and walked in with just enough time to scrub up. Push (x3) and out came Maxwell. The most painful experience of my life! Thanks, boy! I'm sure I'll forget the pain, but maybe when I'm 90.
They put him on my chest immediatley - something else they also didn't do in KS. No bath, no clean-up, just mommy time. It was wonderful. I wouldn't have it any other way again. He weighed in at 8lbs 5oz, 20 3/4 inches long. He weighed in between his two other brothers, but is the longest of the three.
We had lots of visitors to the hospital, but missed many from our old home. Wish we could have smooshed the two together. We went home 48 hours later. By home, I mean our new home - for the first time! the boys were with mom & Dave all week while we camped out in the hospital (thank you!!!) and then they went to Chad's parents over the first weekend so we had time to adjust to new Max and the house. I sure missed my buddies, but it was such the relief to know they were taken care of.
I love my boys and am one blessed mama.
