Helicopter

Fun weekend! Chad needs to computer for school work, so I'll try to keep this brief. In short, we enjoyed a nice air show and birthday party this weekend. Ben loved the planes, but the jet fueled truck scared him (and mommy) a bit. It was loud and smelly. Today we went to a birthday party for a friends daughter. They have a great pool, and had one of those giant inflatable slides for the kids. Ben & Holly had so much fun sliding and splashing in the pool at the bottom. He also enjoyed sticking his hand in Sami's birthday cake, but no one seemed to mind. It's been a while since we've seen those kiddos. Must do more often!

Henry is going through a "mommy love on me and don't walk away" stage. Ben never went through any kind of separation anxiety. Not that Henry is too terrible with it, but he is for sure a clinger. Do I mind? Heck no. It will be funny too when he can actually walk. Ben has it too easy now when he take toys from him or nudges him when he gets too close. I think Henry will lay one on him once he realizes what is actually going on. He also has 4 teeth on top now, and two on the bottom. They came all at once. Poor kiddo.

Park Time

A cooler day...finally!

I hope to post more pictures tonight, as we are planning a trip to another park with the boys after naps today. In the mean time, here are a few random thoughts.

Receiving a call today from one of my best friends who lives far, far away just made my day. I've seen her once since our wedding due to the miles between us, and she will always be a bestie.

Ben made me leave the grocery store yesterday due to a tantrum. That was not the best part of yesterday.

I actually talked Chad into watching Harry Potter with me last night and I fell asleep 15 minutes into it. It was 9pm.

I miss my family. The pastor at church today was talking about a trip with his wife to Lake Michigan. I elbowed Chad and we both sighed.

We had corned beef, cabbage & noodles, and sweet and sour cabbage for dinner last night. Two kinds of cabbage and Jan over to eat with us, good evening.

I can't wait to decorate my house for fall and take the boys to the pumpkin patch. The one we only discovered last year and it's the best I've ever been to. With the exception of the one in The Bend with the old ladies running the show.

We are about 99% decided to take a trip to Alaska next year. Need to clear a room with Aunt Connie, but I think it's high time we took her up on the invite. I want to see some beauty!

Finally, I need to lay off the ice cream if I'm ever going to fit into my dress for Brandi's wedding. Maybe one more night, I mean it, really.

The first picture is further proof that Ben is a lefty. Chad is ecstatic because he hopes we will have a lefty pitcher in the major leagues. He said he was writing his name.

We were able to play outside for a bit on Saturday. Ben was all about using the sandbox lid as a pirate ship. We we hunting for alligators. I was bite a few times, but alas we both made it out alive.

I finally snapped a picture oh Henry's teeny little teeth. He has another coming in on top, but off to the side. I guess there is no rhyme or reason to this tooth business. Ben's seemed to have a plan. Top two, bottom two. Henry, not so much. He is a good sport though.

I just can't get enough of Ben's eyelashes. I think I may have blogged about this before, but here goes. The little girls at Ben's daycare asked their mom if he was nocturnal because his eyes are so big. Ha. Kids. But I will attest that he certainly was nocturnal early in life. Although I'm not interested in going through sleepless nights again any time soon, I will admit that my dreams about babies say otherwise. Yes, I had a dream about baby number 3 last night. Boy. Cute of course. Even had a name. Really all that dream did was remind me how much I enjoy my peaceful sleep now, including my two hour nap today!

Truth be told, I miss blogging about my boys. I think I'll step back from posting my "projects" and just leave this blog for my babies. I guess that just means I'll have to start a photo blog just for my hobby. After all, it's not really growing up, Ben & Henry when looking at fancy pics. So...on to the babies.
Ben has been quite the toddler lately. He has taken a fancy to not wearing any clothes. He goes to bed dressed, and a few hours later his unclothed bottom is straight up in the air. I can redress him without so much as a whimper. Good, little sleeper that boy.
He WILL NOT share with his brother. It's hilarious to watch as he pushes his toys away from Henry little by little, or plops down right in front of him to block his stash. It's quite amusing, but also tragic when we make him share and he acts like we just told him that candy will never be allowed in the house again - ever. Sure, it's all about teaching him how to share. But boy howdy is this a difficult lesson.
Henry's third tooth has popped through. He was on an eating hiatus these last few weeks. I mean to say that he wanted everything but his bottle. He would eat anything his little fingers could get his hands on, just not milk. I suppose since the tooth has made an appearance (top, left) he is back to self. I love to watch him pull himself up on everything and then grin ear to ear. He will be walking in no time, which is bad because he is already into everything. I really don't remember that with Ben. He was sort of stationary if you gave him toys and played with him. Henry is across the room and in the toy bin in 30 seconds flat. He's fast, but still chubby. I enjoy that chubbiness. Oh, and I swear that his first word is No. He says it all the time. Henry, do you want to take a bath? No Henry, do you want to go to bed? No Henry, do you want to eat? YaYaYa! Maybe it's just us, but I'm seriously counting this as his first word. Ben was a super early talker, and Henry is determined to catch up.
I'm thinking it's time for a room makeover for Henry. I like Pooh, but I'm thinking something a little more big-boy. I also want to redo our living room. Don't know if I have the energy, but we have been throwing around a couple of ideas. It does involve painting, and a lot of it. I don't know if I can stand to see Chad standing on the handrail and leaning 8 feet over the staircase. We have two kids now, and I could use the help.

Bleh

Apparently he needs alone time for potty.
First haircut at home.

We are about 85% recovered from our stint of food poisoning this weekend, so this shall be a short blog. Chad & I attended a fundraiser event on Saturday, and 4 out of 8 at our table became violently ill. At least the event was fun!

I had a shoot on Saturday morning, and will post as soon as I feel ok to edit. I just can't focus long enough. However, they look so stinking cute and I can't wait to share. Until next time...
