Ooh bring on Sunday. Chad & a friend worked outside on the sprinklers for a large part of the day. Keith offered to show Chad how to replace heads and fix broken ones, as his way of paying it forward. His neighbor had showed him earlier this season, and now he can show someone else. The world ought to be that way. Sure saves us a few bucks, and now Chad has a new skills under his belt!
Andrea brought over my Kate. I snapped a few shots, but one of my favorites she is wearing angel wings. Her adorable baby chubbiness is too cute. The boys and I also hit the nature center for a bit this morning. It wasn't hot yet, and we had a great time looking for dinosaurs and dragons. They must have all been sleeping today...
Ben has moments where I have to stand back and just smile. He says the craziest things sometimes, but can also be so dang sweet! Today he told me to stop looking at him because he was mad, and then later in the day I must have looked sad because he put his hand on my cheek and said don't worry. I don't know where he picks these things up, but I'm amazed by his vocabulary every day.
Tomorrow we head to the Y pool. Henry has never been, and this year will be quite different for Ben. Even last year he wanted to walk into the water by himself. I cringe every time he lets me hand go, even in ankle deep water. I don't really think that I'm over protective, but maybe I am. I'd rather him walk, when he wants to run. I try to bubble wrap him as best I can with sunscreen, winter hats, seat belts on his bike, rubber padding on the wall corners, and it never seems enough. His personality scares me a bit, if it persists into his teen years. Maybe all two year old boys are daredevils. I only have Ben to compare it to. However, the thought of him driving, or going any where without a responsible adult terrifies me. So Ben, please stay my baby forever. You can live at home until you are 50, and probably after that if you want to. I'll chauffeur you, give you your gummy vitamins, and watch movies with you on Friday night.
