Our bunny babies

Short note as I'm holding a wiggling baby. We are having a great Easter weekend! While we wait for our guests to arrive, we eat candy, finger paint, and play with sidewalk chalk. Yesterday we had an egg hunt for the kiddos and the weather was great. Bunny was very good to the boys, as were the grandparents. Counting the days until IN...

Photo Fun

Ben...Henry. Both about 6 months.

I bribed him with chocolate

Such a happy baby

Here froggy froggy

I could probably play with my camera and edit photos all day. This is precisely why we moved it in to the basement. I found my butt glued to the dining room chair far too much. I did buy some more items for picture taking, but am waiting for my backdrops before I do too much with them. The yellow walls don't do too much as far as I'm concerned. By the way, I appreciate you all going on my photo journey with me. I sure hope it's not like knitting was for me. Have you seen me post any of my work? Exactly. If you have any ideas or comments, I welcome them!

This weekend was fairly uneventful. We were going to visit the zoo with some friends, but thier little guy ended up sick. Ben was also a jewel (meant very sarcastically) this weekend, so it was a good thing we didn't venture too far from home. He didn't want to leave the house anyway. He just wanted to color...on the walls, the windows, his body. You get the picture.

We ended up moving his play room to the basement. Our living room was taken over by toys, and we decided it was time to go. There will still be the occasional dinosaur and sword on my couch, but that I can deal with. It was stepping on crayons and puzzle pieces that was starting to get to me. I swear that toys really are like buzz light year and woody. They come to life at night, position themselves exactly where I place my feet in the morning, and wait for payback. They think it's funny. I do not. I do try to show them though, because I let Ben take them in the bath and the sandbox. Sure, you are thinking that those are great places for a toy. And you would be right. But Ben likes to bury his toys in sand for days, and he is sticky and smelly come bath time. I win.

Henry's First Tooth

Little Brian.

Henry's first tooth is poking through. It's on the top right, and so darn cute. His hands and toes are always in his mouth, so it was hard to tell when he was teething. Sure enough, there it is. Just the cutest darn tooth in the Midwest.

I had to post this adorable picture of my nephew. He looks like he is lost in thought, much like my brother typically does. These babies are so amazingly beautiful.

A few shout outs...congrats to cousin's Chris & Janet who welcomed baby #6 last night! Congrats to Brandi & Ty who are now engaged. I hear it was a beautiful proposal over Niagara Falls. Hate to say it...but I told you so :).

You're not going to leave me here, are you?

Wow there is so much to learn with this camera. I should be reading more now, but I think I need to take baby steps. Until then, a wicker basket and dining room table will have to do!

Tulip Festival and Art Park

What a perfect day today has turned out to be! We happened to find out about a tulip festival about 30 minutes south of us and decided to give it a whirl. It was on 18 acres of absolute beauty! There were 12,000 tulips (so says the paper...we did not count), a pond, many mature trees, art, music, and lots of nature for the boys to enjoy. The weather was in the 70's and gorgeous. We will definitely be going back there because it's open all the time. Ben even chased butterflies while Henry & I enjoyed the sun. A favorite day for me.

It has a fun story too. The founder of the Dixie Chicks was driving by the land in the 90's and noticed it was for sale. A family had owned and run the land for many years, but decided to put it up for sale. Well, she bought it and now lives in the little house (pictured) on the 18 acres. Dream home about sums it up. We also met her just after we arrived. She is a very pretty lady, and I'm so glad she opens up the land to the public.

After that, we went to a candy shop that was converted from an old manufacturing building. It was huge! Candy everywhere! Naturally we were all drooling, but we had to help out the Easter bunny and buy some yummy items for Ben's basket.

Love.

I thought Henry looked funny in this one.

I have a long way to go, but I think I might try my hand at photography. I'm pretty sure I have the best subjects, now it's just up to me to learn. I've felt like a needed a hobby for a long time, and have tried many things. I've just never really liked anything, until now! Our new camera is a blast to play with, and I'm ordering a great book to help me understand all the camera lingo. Then it's backdrops, props, and practice. Oh how I'm looking forward to this! Heck, even if I'm no good then at least I have pictures of the babes.
