This weekend did not turn out quite like I'd planned - but then again they rarely do. I had big plans to take Ben to the air show this weekend since he is fascinated by air planes. However...we waited in line to park for over an hour and finally turned back when a pedestrian told us it would be at least another 45! We may have waited, but at this point poor Ben was ready to get out of his car seat and Henry was situated quite comfortably on my bladder making me even more irritable. So, off to the golden arches we went, where Ben had a nice fruit smoothie. To add to it, I came down with an awful cold on Friday and I felt like poo. I am the worst sick person in the world too, so I couldn't function very well and felt a pity party was necessary. I took some approved medicine, but it didn't offer too much relief.

Luckily today was better and we went to the park in the evening. We ran into one of the kids (with parents of course) that he used to go to day care with. They had fun playing together again, although I'm sure it seemed like a first encounter for the both of them since they were too little to remember each other. I love taking him there though because he can play with kiddos more his age, yet is still amazed by all the big kids and how fast they run circles around him. I still stand in terror as he tries to join in, only to watch him bonk his head on something in the end. At least he can work on his sharing skills. There was one two year old who flipped out when Ben picked up a bucket - which was Ben's mind you. His dad was so embarrassed that he quickly whisked him away to the car. I chatted with his mom and said we didn't mind, they are two after all. Then again, Ben's antics have made us leave the park several times too.

We received some nice packages today from the grandparents. Some key items for Ben were his new luggage for his overnight trip with Jackie when Henry decides to join us, and a musical bee which Ben plays over and over and over...It has a little fan on the front that lights up and he just dances like a mad man whenever it's on. It was supposed to be my hospital gift for Henry, but much like everything else, Ben decided first come, first serve. He has a point.

Sno-cones with Ben & Henry

There is nothing quite like the curiosity of a child.

Feeding the ducks

Feeding Ethan

Hugging "Papaw"

We had a few fun hours at the zoo today. It was my company picnic, but since it was over most of Ben's nap time, we went to the zoo early to see all the animals. Ben must have fallen a half dozen times...good thing I had the Scooby-doo band aids with us. He also fell into a puddle of mud, and ran to stand under the mister which in turn soaked him from head to toe. It was really funny when Ben called the farmer cut out on the wall 'Papaw' and went to give him a hug. I guess he misses him...

At lunch he would not sit still, but preferred to show off how cute he is to all my co-workers. He did have a fun time with Ethan though when he shared some of his hamburger with him.

Well I have just under 5 weeks left until Henry, and my feet have started to swell. They were terrible with Ben, and I was hopeful that since I had gone this long it wouldn't happen again. Wrong! They don't look too bad yet, but I'm not sure I can handle Chad calling me sausage toes again.

Also, I was in KC for work this last week and friend Jackie took me & Henry to dinner at the tallest (rotating might I add) restaurant in KC. The food was awesome, and the views are amazing. We are looking forward to taking Ben to KC for some winter fun in December. He might need a little mommy & daddy time at that point.

Mommy & Me - Reunited

Poking a toad in the eye. Sorry toad.

Sliding with Holly.

Our mommy & me group met this morning for some fun playground time. It has been several months since we have met as a group, and it was fun to see how big all the kiddos are getting. Ben spent 2 full hours running around and playing in the water. He was so exhausted when we got home and took a nice 3 hour nap. The kiddos shared snacks and Ben had fun following Ayden around after he found a toad, Hopefully Mr. toad e is still with us :).

The playground is great and it's specially designed for children of all abilities. The ground is kind of spongy and it's easy for climbing. I think we will go back for sure!

It was also nice of Ben to have two stinky diapers while at the park. Always an adventure.

Can I tell now?!

Little Chad.

Ahh memories.

We met Karra & Ayden at the park this morning since it was so beautiful out! They had fun swinging, harassing a poor butterfly, and running in the wet grass. She is definitely taller than Ben is now, but then again who isn't?! His little legs could certainly keep up with the bigger kids though. Ben was all sorts of excited about all the dogs in the park. Since he has a dog at daycare, he assumes they are all just as lovable and can't get enough of them. They were more exciting than the park!

In other news...I am going to be an auntie! My most fantastic brother and sis-in-law are expecting a little one in March. I am so thrilled and know they are going to be the best parents. Ben adores his uncle Brian and I think the feelings are mutual. What an amazing site it will be to see his own little one in his arms! I just wish we could all be closer so the cousins could grow up together like we did with ours. I guess this just means more trips to the East coast - fine by me! We don't know the gender yet, but I am not so secretly hoping for a little girl so I can buy some pink stuff, or maybe a little hair bow, or maybe a tutu, or maybe...ok, I'll stop. Congrats to them both. So glad I finally get to spill the beans. Ben was wondering when I was going to rave about his new cousin.

Also, bestie's Andrea and Mike & Matt and Heather are expecting little ones in March too. What a fantastic month with babies galore!

Henry is getting more annoying daily (only kidding!). But I certainly feel him more every day now. Just under 7 weeks to go and 50% ready for his arrival. Getting out all the bottles, little clothes and everything else is quite the welcome chore. I found some things in Ben's closet that I actually forgot we had. Now I just have to find room for all the junk I was storing in the other bedroom closet. That one is not quite the welcome chore, but if all else fails I think I will just shove it in some corner :).
