Ben sure does love his lawnmower! Now if we could only get him to use the weed eater...

Saying Bye-Bye After a Great Week!

We had a great week with Chad's mom & dad here. They left not more than an hour ago and we miss them already! They sure worked hard while they were here too! Ben stayed home all week to hang out with them, but they still finished our deck, landscaped our yard, and created a front porch oasis. We enjoyed their company, and Ben sure enjoyed his mamaw and papaw. Now every time he looks outside he says papaw, and every time he hears a power tool, he says vacuum. He went for lots of walks, played in the sand at the park, and was loved on quite a bit. It sure is nice having family around, and we can't wait to see them again soon!

Ben slept in today until 8:30, which is quite the accomplishment. It gave the rest of us a late start, as he is typically our alarm clock. Then we enjoyed some donuts...yummy. He will have a rude awakening tomorrow when he has to start getting back up at 6:30 for daycare. I'm sure he will enjoy seeing his little buddies again though.

As for the kitchen, Chad & I were able to work on the cabinet hardware yesterday and are almost finished. We will finish it today, and wow what a difference it makes. So easy too! His dad gave be a tiling 101 lesson, so we will probably get started on that next weekend. It seems a bit scary with all the cuts we will have to make, but I'm excited we are making progress yet again! I'll post some pictures of our beautiful deck later, as I need to show off the excellent craftsmanship of my father-in-law

Today was another beautiful day, so we filled our watering cans and planted more flowers. We did this of course after going to gymnastic, where Ben was the only one in his class who made it today. He did great up until the end when I took the hula hoop from him so we could go home. He does not like it when we take anything from him. He screamed and locked his body as I carried him out. Luckily for me it does not phase me. Although my blood pressure likely rose a bit, I knew he was just tired...and angry with me. He did nap as soon as we got home, but was woken up an hour later my our neighbors weed eater. Unfortunate. He went down before 7 tonight!

We are so excited to see our Chad's mom and dad tomorrow. Ben is going to love every minute too! He has been talking about it all week :). He won't of course be going to day care, as his mamaw will love on him all day! Plus, his dad is finishing our deck. We will have many a BBQ this summer thanks to him!

Also, Chad brought out the rubber duck video for Ben. I haven't missed it! However Ben was so excited so I snapped him dancing a jig.

I had a few more pictures to add from our trip to the zoo. We had a great time and actually spent almost 3 hours there. Ben seemed to like the geese the most though. He kept saying duck duck. I guess we could have walked to the pond down the street! However we did share a nice lime snocone. When I took it for a bite, he glared at me (see first pic above). He isn't the best at sharing yet. He was however frightened of the goats. We went in to feed them, and you know they are a little over zealous. Ben was a bit spooked when one of them tried to put his head in Ben's lap.

Andrea...tell me he doesn't look like a little John Cena with the bibs & hat??

Happy Easter!

Easter has officially arrived. It kinda crept up on me. We spent yesterday with Kim & Travis, and the little ones had an egg hunt. They made real eggs to find and we brought over some stuffed with candy to give Ayden a sugar buzz. It was so fun to watch them find them and then put them in each others baskets. We went to the park after, and let them run free! Ben crashed when it was bed time. What a full day! They are putting up a glorious play set in their backyard. If they don't get it all done today you can expect us over there next weekend!

We also had our first gymnastics class, which Chad so fondly calls "Turning him into a girl" class. However after seeing what it was all about, I think he has relaxed a little. We all stood in a circle and started dancing to a kiddo song, and then it was off to do whatever Ben wanted. They has trampolines, a ball pit (which I actually got stuck in and Kim had to pull me out), beams, mats to climb, etc. It was great fun to chase him around for 30 minutes. He of course cried when it was time to go. I'm glad we have a few more classes, and we may have to continue afterwards!

Today we are headed to the zoo as soon as Ben gets up from his nap. I'm sure I'll have more pictures. He hasn't been since last year, and he practically slept the entire time. It's 80 and sunny today, so great weather for an outing on Easter. We certainly miss our family today, much like every other day. But, we make sure to keep busy and surround ourselves with our KS family for the time being!

Oh & yes he does have a bruise on his forehead in the shape of the Eiffel Tower. He tripped at daycare the other day - just in time for Easter pics! I should just get used to it. I'm still a clutz so I can't blame him :).
