Welcome to tornado season! We had a very rainy weekend. The sirens have gone off 4 times already, and the night is still young. Dad had everything ready in our downstairs bathroom just in case. Last time this happened, he made sure to bring down the pop tarts!

I took a very nice 3 hour nap this afternoon. It was however in mom & dads arms. As soon as they tried to put me down I would let them know it wasn't cool. Hopefully tonight I'll be feeling the crib a bit more. We also read Peter Pan when I awoke. I tried turning the pages myself. What a big boy!

We also went to the flower shop yesterday just before the rain came in. There are so many varieties of plants and flowers. Mom thinks the found the ones for the shadow boxes up front. We will be going back in a week or two. Dad just has to cut down some of the bushes upfront so we know how much room we have. It will be fun to play in the dirt while they work. Maybe mom will show me how to make (and hopefully not eat) her famous mud pies.

Good news is, my cough showed some improvement today. OK, off to stare at the inside of my eyelids. Goodnight.

You can't tell by looking at these pictures of me, but today was a little rough. It started with me going to the hospital to have a chest x-ray and closer look at all that nasty stuff in my chest. The x-ray came back negative, so that's good news! We haven't heard on the other yet. Doc is just running these tests as a precaution since I just can't get rid of this cough yet. I am coughing less during the days though, so it may be on its way out.

I had fun at school today because I got to play with with toddlers for an hour or so and they made me giggle! They kept trying to share their toys, but after a while I became sleepy. I was just drifting off to sleep when mom arrived to pick me up. It was such a beautiful day (minus the extreme heat!) that when it cooled down we joined dad outside as he mowed the lawn. I wasn't out too long, but I sure enjoyed rolling around in the grass and the feel of the wind on my cheeks. It wasn't long ago that the wind used to scare me. Now I enjoy it immensely. Mom dressed me in my big boy shorts that match dad's. I think I'm going to love it outside. What's this I hear about a pool in the summer?!

Exciting announcement...for the first time, I reached out and grabbed a toy while on my tummy! I even picked it up to shake it. Then I was so close to rolling over I thought mom was going to burst. Turns out not only is my arm in the way, but my head is really heavy and seems to be holding me back. I'll get there!

However I do have sad news to report. I still have a bit of a cold, and while at the doctor today I received 4 shots for my 4 month check up. It made mom cry just looking at me! Then just as soon as it was over, I looked up at mommy and smiled! I'm a tough little cookie.

I am full of giggles today!

Mom had to buy me some 6 month socks today because my feet are just way too big for 3 month socks. They barely cover my big toe! She has also confirmed that I will be taking my first ride on an airplane in a few months. I'm a little nervous because I know mom hates to fly and would rather walk the 897 miles, in comfy shoes of course. However due to time constraints, we will be flying home to Indiana for a few days in June. Daddy can't make it, but luckily Auntie Rozzy will be by my side. How lucky is she to be there for my first time on an airplane?! You might pack earplugs just in case :).

Happy 4 month birthday to me! I can't hardly believe I am that old already. It seems like just yesterday I was finding my hands, and now I have graduated to having them in my mouth non-stop! I was allowed to go back to baby school today because I am doing much better. It was nice out, so we went for a walk and I rode in the red wagon with my friend. Fun day!

Happy Easter! I have officially experienced my first Easter...and Easter baskets! The bunny himself was very good to me. I now have a new rattle that lights up when I shake it. We also colored eggs (as promised) and stayed warm inside despite the steady rain. Mom & dad enjoyed a nice salmon dinner, which I think Gordon Ramsey would approve of. Go dad! What a wonderful day!

Happy day before Easter! I am so excited because there are many new things to play with, including this purple egg. We will be staying in tomorrow because I'm a little under the weather. Mom says we can color eggs though and then I will open my Easter baskets.

So it would seem that one of my new friends from baby school gave me a little cough. Mom & dad played it safe and I've been home with them since Wednesday. I have this special machine that cold air comes out of for me to breathe in. It feels funny on my nose. I've already noticed improvement and should be able to go back to school on Tuesday. It's nice of my new friends to share, but some things are better kept to yourself :)!

At my last appointment I weighed in at just under 15 pounds and 23 inches long. I'm a serious eater just like my folks. Everything else checked out good - I'm able to grab a rattle, am very social, and have great head control. Although I have yet to roll over, I wobble a lot when I'm on my belly so I'm sure it will happen soon. It's also fun when I stand up, with support of course. My little legs are getting very strong, and those feet are becoming more interesting every day.

Have a wonderful Easter everyone!

Today was an unusual day. I went to the zoo for about 20 minutes. It was far too windy for me to enjoy myself...stinkin' Kansas. So, we came back home and I napped, played, and almost rolled over! Mom & dad were trying to teach me (dad will a full blown demonstration), but I'm just not quite ready. Also, you will see from my messy face that I am eating cereal. It took me some time to figure out this spoon contraption, but I'm getting the hang of it. At first, I would just spit the cereal out. Then I realized that it is tasty, and if mom puts some on the roof of my mouth I can get most of it down. What fun!
Well, off to bed so mom can swaddle me like a caterpillar. Maybe some day I'll make it to my big boy bed. But for right now, I'm content sleeping within arms reach :).

Mom is blogging tonight because my sweet baby is fast asleep. We sure do miss our little munchkin. He is trying so hard and doing quite well at getting used to baby school. It just breaks our hearts that he goes to bed so early because that means less time with his perfect smile. I hope he is dreaming of us.
His teacher is taking lots of pictures of him and today we took home his first piece of art work - his hand and feet prints! She also took a cute picture of him lifting his feet up while in the boppy pillow. Every day she gives us a report of how his days went - what he did, how long he napped, how much he ate, etc. Today he was laying on the play mat and he and another baby were looking at each other. This is what we wanted for him, but what we wouldn't give to be with him. Sometimes when I'm holding him I often find myself wondering who he will be when he is older. Will he have his daddy's love of music, sports, and literature? Will he have his mommy's love of animals, school, and sleeping :)? Only time will tell, but I sure hope it moves slowly.
